With the approach of health care reform, and in order to allow ValleyCare physicians to continue doing what they do best - practice medicine, ValleyCare Physicians Associates (VPA) and the ValleyCare Medical Foundation was founded in 2008. VPA partners with ValleyCare Medical Foundation to oversee the increasingly complex administrative tasks of health care delivery today. Functions such as insurance eligibility, reimbursement and record-keeping are better served by content experts, freeing up our physicians to focus on your health needs. VPA is rapidly expanding in the Tri-Valley including Pleasanton, Livermore and Dublin. New physicians and services are constantly being added to keep pace with community growth and advancements in medicine.

ValleyCare Medical Foundation provides health care to its patients through a collaborative network of Primary Care and Specialty Physicians. These well-established and respected physicians reflect a remarkable depth of professional experience, from board-certified physicians to recognized medical leaders in the community. Working together, this multi-specialty team provides an integrated, continuum of care that respects the needs of each individual patient.

ValleyCare Physicians Associates and ValleyCare Medical Foundation are affiliated with ValleyCare Health System. ValleyCare Health System, a 242-bed, dual-campus facility, offers a wide range of services to residents of California’s Tri-Valley region. With 24/7 emergency care and some of the most technologically advanced diagnostic equipment in Northern California, ValleyCare continues to be a leader in medical innovation and excellence in health care.

Founded in 1961, Valley Memorial Hospital opened it doors on the Livermore site with 46 beds and a medical staff of 23. Now, 50 years later, that small hospital has grown into a two campus health system. Continually growing with the needs of the community, ValleyCare Medical Center opened in Pleasanton in 1991.

Today, ValleyCare Health System offers a wide array of specialties; comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services from bariatric surgery, to an accredited diabetes center, advanced orthopedic procedures, and regional cancer center; new and renovated facilities and state-of-the-art medical technology.

ValleyCare's hallmark of high quality, personalized and compassionate care has not been compromised over the years. The passion for excellence by its medical staff, administration and employees, coupled with the pursuit of leading edge technology, is why ValleyCare can deliver superior medical care.

Since 1961, ValleyCare has remained a private, nonprofit, tax-exempt health care system, not publicly owned or operated or tax supported. The ValleyCare corporation reinvests any profits it makes from operations into new facilities, equipment and services, rather than providing them to outside owners in the form of dividends. Because of its non-profit status, ValleyCare is exempt from taxation and is permitted to receive tax-deductible contributions from the community to further its mission "to assume the leadership role for the health of the communities of the Tri-Valley."
